Bio
Originally from Idaho (home of the potato), I have been residing in Oregon since 2002. I began my time in Oregon as an AmeriCorps member, serving as a live-in assistant to people with developmental disabilities for a local nonprofit organization called L'Arche Nehalem (which is part of a larger international federation). Since returning to college at PSU, I have been fortunate to participate in a number of programs. I worked as a Mentor for the University Studies department for two years, helping Freshman students acclimate to college life. I also worked in the Office of International Affairs (both as a volunteer and as a student worker), helping to promote education abroad and the intercultural relations. Additionally, I had the opportunity to participate in several study abroad programs - spending 5 weeks in South Korea, teaching English to school children and then 4 months in Mexico, working on my Spanish.
